HAPPY YES HAPPY

It’s a “Happy Yes Happy” Thursday.

LORD WE THANK YOU FOR THE JOY, PEACE AND HAPPINESS THAT WE HAVE IN YOU. AMEN.

The song by Pharrell Williams entitled “HAPPY” was my inspiration for today’s message. If you have never heard it I suggest that you do, for it will make you happy, put a smile on your face and may even make you want to dance.  As human beings we were designed with a DNA structure that makes each of us have one basic goal and that is to be happy. No matter what we are doing the goal is for us to be happy. With every moment of our lives we are trying to be happy. Even when we have moments of discomfort and pain we are still seeking some type of comfort and happiness. GOD has designed us for joy and wants us to be creatures filled with and living in happiness. Now happiness is created in different ways for each of us. For some of us happiness is created only when we do things for ourselves. For others it is created when we do things for others. Then for some of us, who are spiritually and well-connected to our Heavenly Father, our happiness comes when we do things for HIM. Now the well-rounded, complete person realizes that true and lasting happiness comes when we do all three.

First, we need to do things in our lives that give us joy and happiness. Life is short and full of troubles therefore we need to do as much as we can as often as we can to make ourselves happy. Nobody can or really will do that for us but us. Now making ourselves happy should not be at the cost of others nor should it be done in such a way that it’s against the will or ways of GOD. In reality that form of happiness will bring about our destruction. Yes our first happiness should come by doing things for ourselves.

Second, we should seek happiness by doing things for others. God created this world in such a way that we are for the most part designed to live and survive by helping each other. Many, if not most of us, receive happiness by doing things to make others happy. The problem comes about when we put others happiness before our own and in most cases this can be very unhealthy. In fact it can cause all kinds of mental and emotional hurt and pain. GOD will bless you for helping others but don’t do it in such a way that it hurts you especially when and if the other person does not appreciate what you have done or are doing for them.

But the most comprehensive way to create happiness is to do things for JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVOIR. Doing for CHRIST means doing HIS will. Doing for CHRIST means building up HIS kingdom. Doing for CHRIST means spreading the Gospel. Doing for CHRIST also means doing for yourself and doing for others. You see GOD wants us to be happy that’s why HE blesses us. That’s why each and everyday HE is always doing for us. If it wasn’t for GOD we wouldn’t have any happiness. The same way HE blesses us to make us happy HE wants us to bless others to make them happy.  So the bottom line is this: we make GOD happy when HE sees that we are doing positive things to make ourselves, our family, our friends and even the stranger happy.

So the question of the day is, Beloved can you truly say that you are happy? If not GOD wants you to be and I suggest that you pray and seek lasting happiness thru HIM. When you do you will be happy beyond your comprehension. You see when you’re happy in JESUS you can smile thru the pain. When you’re happy in JESUS you can smile thru the storm. Yes, when you’re happy in JESUS you can smile no matter what may come because you realize that everyday with JESUS is sweeter than the day before. Everyday you will love HIM more and more. Can I get a witness? Can you say, “I’m Happy?”
