CHANGE A CHILD’S LIFE

It’s a “Change A Child’s Life” Sunday.
LORD, BLESS US TO SAVE AND HELP OUR CHILDREN. AMEN.
Yesterday I was blessed to attend a conference in the beautiful city of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. There were many topics discussed, but the one that was dear to my heart was called “Saving Our Youth”. I truly believe this should be of great concern to you also. You see our children are our future. GOD has given them to us and they are our responsibility. Now, the situation of our youth is so messed up that we need many ideas and solutions. Here are some of my thoughts about the situation. First, we call them a lost generation, so the real question is, if they are lost, who lost them? They didn’t lose themselves. No, we lost them. I believe we have lost them because we have not raised them like we were raised. If they were raised like us, they would be more like us. Second, don’t complain if you are not helping. Each of us can do something to make a change in the life of a child. Don’t worry about what others are doing or not doing, just worry about what you are doing and do what you can do. Anything big or small will make a difference. Third, you can’t help if you don’t have yourself together. We must lead by example. It is no longer do as I say but do as I do. You see, you can’t tell me to respect you when you don’t respect yourself or others. You can’t tell to me to watch my language and you cuss like a sailor. You can’t tell me not to go to bed with whosoever I want, when you go to bed with the whole neighborhood. You can’t tell me not to drink and use drugs when you get drunk and smoke Mary Jane and Cocaine all day long. Yes, you can’t tell me to live like heaven when you live like hell. Beloved we can change the situation of our youth if we remember that nobody can do everything but everybody can do something and if everybody is doing something then everything will get done. So stop complaining about what you don’t have, thank GOD for what you do have and use what you got. So tell me how are you making a change in a child’s life? Oh, can I get an AMEN up in here, up in here? (Boy you preached today Rev.)
