ARE YOU GUILTY?

It’s an “Are You Guilty?” Thursday.
LORD GIVE US THE BOLDNESS TO TELL THE WORLD THAT WE WORSHIP YOU AND YOU ALONE. AMEN.

A few days ago I was watching a criminal court case on a cable news channel. I watched as each person was sworn in. The clerk asked them after raising their right hand, “Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God?” Each one answered by saying: ” I do.” Then the questioning began for each person. This reminded me of a time when I was a witness in a court case some years ago. My testimony lasted for about an hour and at times it was very intense. At one point I felt like the defense lawyer was trying to trick me but the spirit of God helped me get through it.  When I was done I also felt I did well and did my best to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I stayed to see first hand the outcome of the case. Well, the guy was found guilty and sentenced a few weeks later. Last night I had a thought, suppose we lived in a country where it was against the law to be a Christian. So I ask you my friend would you break the law and be a Christian? Would you proclaim that you are a follower of The Lord Jesus Christ or would you deny Him like Peter? Would you be ashamed to let somebody else know that you have been “Born of the Spirit and Washed in the Blood of the Lamb?” So let’s say you are arrested because someone accused you of being a Christian. Do they have any proof? What evidence could they use to prove that you are guilty? Is there any part of your life that reflects that you are a Christian? Do you talk like a Christian? Do you live like a Christian? Do you do the things that a Christian should do? Do you treat other people right? Do you try to help somebody as you pass along? Do you have a prayer life? Do you read your Bible? Do you worship God in spirit and in truth? Do you try to live by the Ten Commandments? So my question to you is this: Is there anybody and I mean anybody, just one person, who can testify under oath, speaking the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, say to a jury and judge that they know you are a Christian? (Things that make you say “hummmmm”!) Amen lights and walls.
