SIX MISTAKES

September 12th
It’s a “Six Mistakes” Day

LORD, EACH DAY HELP US TO CHANGE, TO GET BETTER, AND TO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AGAIN. AMEN.

The Roman philosopher and statesman, Cicero, said this some 2,000 years ago, and it is still true today. The Six Mistakes of Man:

  1. The delusion that personal gain is made by crushing others.
  2. The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected.
  3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it.
  4. Refusing to set aside trivial preference.
  5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind and not acquiring the habit of reading and study.
  6. Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.

The more we live, the more things stay the same. How many of these mistakes have you made?
