It’s a “Recipe for Raising Your Child” Day
LORD WE CAN’T PROPERLY RAISE OUR CHILDREN WITHOUT YOUR GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION. LEAD US AS WE LEAD AND TRAIN THEM. AMEN.
Here is a recipe I found for raising your child:
1 cup of Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
2 Tablespoons of Proverbs 19:13
“A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.”
1 Dash of Proverbs 23:13
“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.”
1 Teaspoon of Proverbs 3:5
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
1/2 cup of Titus 2:3-7
“The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity.”
Mix all the ingredients, add a pound of persistence, one cup of love, and whip until you have the right consistency. This recipe is recommended by the Creator of Mankind. Oh, by the way, please add a pinch of the Ephesians 6:4
“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
