It’s an “Our Mixed-Up Nation” Day
LORD, AS A NATION WE ARE SO MIXED UP THAT WE NEED YOU TO DELIVER US FROM OURSELVES. AMEN.
As a nation, we are all mixed up. We say we are a nation under God but The Supreme Court in 1963 banned prayers in public schools. The following prayer by kindergarten children was declared illegal:
“We thank you for the flowers so sweet;
We thank you for the food we eat,
We thank you for the birds that sing,
We thank you, God, for everything.”
It is illegal to read the Bible in the public schools, but it is a law in various states to provide a Bible for every convict in prison who wants one. So don’t worry young people, if you can’t read the Bible in school, you’ll be able to read it when you get to prison! Things like this make me so mad, what about you?
