YOU BETTER ENJOY LIFE

February 22nd

It’s a “You Better Enjoy Life” Day

LORD, WE PRAISE YOU FOR THE JOYS AND DANCES OF LIFE.

I often reflect about a time I attended the Surprise 60th birthday party of a school friend and dedicated member of the church where I serve as the Assistant Pastor. I saw old friends and young ones too. When she came in the door, she was so surprised that she started crying.

You know, it’s nice to give someone flowers while they live rather than at the funeral. We fall all in the casket and start shouting, “Oh GOD take me with her,” knowing full well we don’t mean it. LOL.

Well, we blessed the food and ate like a runaway slave. We did our birthday wishes, and then we danced. The DJ played Hip Hop for the young people, James Brown for the old people and Line Dance Music for everybody. Yes, we danced until we couldn’t dance anymore. Most of us went home to Ben Gay. Truth be told, I know I did.  It was a good time, but while I was there, I heard some bad news. One of my Eastern Star sisters’, 92-year-old mother went home to be with the LORD. Now when I got home, I thought about the words of Solomon: “There is a time to mourn and a time to dance.” In other words, there is a time to be sad in life, and there is a time to be happy in life. There is a time to cry and time to laugh. There is a time to be serious about life, and there is a time to have as much fun as we can.

All of us will not live to see 90 much less 92, so we better learn to enjoy life as long as and as often as we can. GOD knows I am. Some of us are so holier than thou that we are miserable. We are so saintly, and heaven bound that we are a living hell to be with.

Yes, I danced and had a good time at the birthday party that night, but I also went to church that next morning and I danced and had a good time there too. You can call me a hypocrite, but GOD calls me a Worshiper.  Some of you got the nerve to sing, “Things I used to do I don’t do anymore.” No, things you used to do you can’t do anymore. You done gave up and given out. (LOL)

So my message today is, enjoy life every day, and it’s ok to dance and have fun, in fact, you better dance now because soon the party (life) will be over. That’s why I do the HOLY GHOST SLIDE. In fact, Beloved when was the last time you danced?
