IF IT AIN’T ONE THING, IT’S ANOTHER

March 10th

“If It Ain’t One Thing, It’s Another” Day.

O LORD OUR GOD, WE THANK YOU BECAUSE YOUR MERCY, AND YOUR GRACE ARE THINGS WE CAN BE SURE OF. AMEN

The more I live, the more I realize that life is full of ups and downs and we all have our issues and struggles. We never really know what’s going to happen from day to day. Life is so uncertain. Therefore, I can say with certainty that I’m so glad that I know The Lord. Glad because each day makes this wise saying that my grandmother said so true: “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

We look at the news and read the paper and what do we hear and see, in most cases, some horrible things. People being murdered, car accidents, robberies, unemployment going up, government and business scandals, and unrest in foreign countries, wars and rumors of war. “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

“Husband murders wife, mother tries to kill her children, child arrested for selling drugs, mate caught cheating on spouse, father molesting child, family is homeless due to fire, woman raped in park, women kidnapped and held for years, Congress can’t agree on important issues, political fighting, disrespectful-lying-narcissistic president, and revengeful politicians. “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

Man hurt in hit and run accident, snowstorms cause schools and businesses to close, rainstorms create major mudslides, and Forrest fires destroy homes. Flooding causes evacuations, hurricanes destroy thousands of homes, thousands without electrical power, and tornado rips through neighborhoods. “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

Companies downsizing and laying folk off, a child in court suing her parents, Priest molesting children, school shootings and children being neglected. Planes being high jacked, cars stolen, cars being repossessed, police corruption and brutality, “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

It’s cold outside, heating bill is high, roof leaking, furnace not working right, water pipe busted, water heater needs replacement, and property taxes went up and are due. “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

Parents are sick; family member dies, health problems arise, the doctor gives you bad news, cancer, heart attack, brain tumor, stroke, a child born with birth defects, drug addiction and alcoholism has caused major problems. All this and you don’t have health care. “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

Food prices are going up; food has cancer-causing ingredients, don’t eat this and don’t eat that. There is West Nile virus, HIV, bird flu, just to name a few. Bills, bills, and more bills. I tell you, “If it ain’t one thing it’s another.”

The list could go on and on. That’s why I said I’m so glad I know THE LORD. You see all of these issues and problems our GOD can handle. There are many things in this world that are uncertain. We never know what’s going to happen from day to day, but I can say like that old hymn writer who wrote: “There are some things I may not know. There are some places I can’t go, but I am sure of this one thing that GOD is real for I can feel HIM deep within.”

Yes, GOD is real and because HE is real and still on the throne, He can, and He will take care of you no matter what may come your way. Beloved that should put a smile on your face and praise on your lips. Now get your praise on. So get it, get it! Yea, get it, get it!  I got it, and I get it, do you?
