PRAY FOR A COP

May 11th                      It’s a “Pray For a Cop” Day

LORD, WE LIFT OUR HEARTS UNITED TODAY IN PRAYER. AMEN.

Several days ago, I told you it was the time of year when those of us in the law enforcement family remember those who have died in the line of duty. On that day, I asked you to “Thank a Cop”. The next day, I asked you to join me to ask God to “Bless a Cop”. Today I want to close this topic and ask you to join me as we “Say a Prayer for a Cop”. So if you will, let us pray:

Almighty God, whose great power and eternal wisdom embraces the universe, we pray for all those who, as police officers, have accepted the task of keeping peace and order in this world. Make them aware of the great responsibility that is theirs in this sacred calling. Strengthen them in trying times; give them patience, wisdom, and compassion; guide and guard them in their duty, and grant that they might find understanding and friendship among your people whom they protect. Watch over and protect them from harm in the performance of their duty to stop crime, robberies, violence and murder. We pray that you help keep our streets and homes safe day and night. They need You Lord more than ever because their duty is dangerous. Grant them your unending strength and courage in their daily assignments. Bless these brave men and women and their loved ones. Keep them in Your loving care and unite them safely with their families after duty ends. Thank You Lord for hearing and answering our prayer. And the people said, “AMEN”.
