EACH, REACH AND TEACH ONE

It’s an “Each, Reach and Teach One” Friday.

LORD, HELP US TO SAVE OUR CHILDREN. MAY THEY LEARN THAT WHATEVER THEY DO TODAY WILL AFFECT ALL OF THEIR TOMORROWS. AMEN.

The story is told of a young man who was stopped for a traffic violation. The police officer recognized a strong odor coming from the car, and it was found that he had been smoking marijuana. When he went to court he was convicted of marijuana possession, an automatic felony and received a suspended sentence. When he was talking to his friends they were saying that was a pretty light sentence and something he could take in stride and he didn’t lose much. But as time went on he went on, to realize that he lost a lot. You see he lost his right to vote, to own a gun and the right to run for public office. He also lost the chance to ever be a licensed doctor, dentist, certified public accountant, engineer, lawyer, architect, realtor, schoolteacher, funeral director, or stockbroker.

He can never get a job where he has to be bonded or licensed.

He can’t work for various jobs offered by the city, county, state or federal government.

He cannot be admitted to West Point, Annapolis or the Air Force Academy.

It’s important that we teach our young men and women that an arrest record goes with them for the rest of their life. It can destroy many of the dreams that they may have for their future. Yes we must reach them and teach them before it’s too late. Remember the children are our future and we must teach them well and let them lead the way.

Let us, “Each One, Reach One, Teach One!” I got my one. You got yours?
