It’s a “Step Out In Faith” Friday.
LORD, GIVE US THE FAITH TO STEP OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE AND MAKE THE CHANGES WE WANT IN OUR LIVES AND SEEK THE DESIRES OF OUR HEART. Amen.
In October of last year I quit my job of 22 years to step out on faith and do something different. I wasn’t happy and I would pray everyday: “Lord, please help me find a new job”. Finally, with a little push from the company, I came to the realization that sometimes when you want to change a situation you have to take the first step and let God take the rest. That’s why the old folks would say: “You take one step and God will take two.” I went through nine months of ups and downs but through it all I never missed a meal and I paid all my bills. This experience has given me a testimony and I know what it means when the old folks say: “He will provide.” I’m happy to report that I am now the director of the largest homeless shelter for men in the city of Philadelphia. I make more money and I got a bigger office and I really love my job. If I had never stepped out on faith I would still be on my old job, in my old office feeling miserable. Yes today I can say I’m happy and I give God all the glory and all the praise. Because of this leap of faith I have learned to depend on God and not man or a system and my faith has made me successful. If we are to have success in our life we must resign our will and turn it over to the will of God. As a friend of mine says: “If it looks or sounds crazy its God speaking to your faith.” As the saying goes “Let go and let God!” If He did it for me He will do it for you. As that song writer said: “Tis no secret what God can do. What He’s done for others He will do for you!”
Remember He is able to handle all your situations and He can handle them better than you or I. So surrender all to Him and let Him have His way and you will find that you are more than a conqueror. All you need is faith and belief. The question is, do you have the faith to believe? Do you?
