PRAYER IN SCHOOL

It’s a “Prayer In School” Friday.

LORD, WE PRAY TODAY FOR OUR SCHOOLS THAT NEED A SPIRITUAL DELIVERANCE. AMEN.

I believe one of the biggest mistakes we made, as a society was to take prayer out of the schools. I say this because our American school system is out of whack. In many cases education is not being done and violence is on the run. School funding is being cut, programs are being cut and our children are being shortchanged. A disgusted and disgruntled school teacher handed in her resignation with the following comment which explains the whole situation that we find our school system in: “In our public schools today, the teachers are afraid of the principles, the principles are afraid of the superintendents, the superintendents are afraid of the Board of Education, the board members are afraid of the parents, the parents are afraid of the children, and the children are afraid of nobody!” Lord have mercy, if we ever needed prayer in the schools we need it now. Story is told of a little puppy that went to school with his owner a little boy named Ricky. When the principal saw the puppy in the school he told Ricky that he had to take the puppy and put him out. So Ricky took his puppy and put him out in front of the school. The puppy was just lying there looking all sad, when he heard a voice from heaven say, “Poor little puppy this is God and I know how you feel. You see they put me out the school too.” It’s time to put God and Prayer back in our schools. Am I right about it? What are your thoughts on this? Do we need prayer in school or not?
