It’s a “Giving God Our Best-Overs” Day
LORD, INSTILL IN US TO ALWAYS GIVE TO YOU THE BEST WE HAVE TO GIVE. AMEN.
Leftovers are such humble things,
We would not serve them to a guest,
And yet we serve them to our Lord
Who deserves the very best.
We give to Him left over time,
Stray minutes here and there,
The leftover cash we give to Him.
Such few coins as we can spare.
We give our youth unto the world,
To hatred, lust, and strife;
Then in declining years we give
To Him the remnant of our life.
So if we really, really, really love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength we will give to Him, not our leftovers, but our “Best-overs.” Over and over and over again. Amen, somebody!
